Biljic rugs are one of the finest rugs made in Afghanistan, certainly a hard find in outer Afghanistan. This rugs symbolises the gardens in paradise in both its complex design and heavenly materials used.
the design is one of rivers and greenery. The blue symbolises the rivers of paradise whereas the green is the trees and plants surrounding it. This blue is from the stone Lapis Lazuli and other plumbs and berries. The green is an extract of vegetables and leaves.
This rug is made of pure sheep wool from around its neck and ankles. This gives a beautiful silk like sheen and feels luscious on the feet. Being a wool woven rug, this rug is set to last for centuries throughout generations.
