    About the Mamluki Rugs

Mamluki rugs feature distinct design patterns/motifs with floral composition and tribal characteristics. Common patterns include medallions, rosettes, hooked polygons, diamonds and crosses as well as representations of animals, birds, trees and humans.

These rugs were originally created during the 18th century in the city of Caucus, Azerbaijan. Mamluki rugs are from the same family of the chobi rugs. Chobi rugs are known for the most rare dyes, sometimes taking years to extract a certain shade.
